THE IDE OF EARTH – Blight of the Anthropocene CS

Anyone who’s paid any attention to US harsh in the past five years or so has heard of THE IDE OF EARTH (or at least one of Parker Weston’s countless other bands or aliases), and to those same people the cynically posthuman aesthetic focus of Blight of the Anthropocene will come as no surprise. As fundamentally loop-based as any other TIOE release, it nonetheless expands to new edges, transgresses new boundaries: jagged wall crumble and raucous sax-and-drums free jazz wail as one in monolithic opener “Battue in a Defensible Space”; multiple feedback systems collide and cancel to weave the exquisite glass-shard grace of “Cognitive Tyranny.”
