Following a series of releases on fellow Vancouverite Bent Window, Indifference is N.Antoni’s radical latest work, a brief system shock of the sparks-flying mad scientist electronics that the artist has made so distinct. “Shale Spiral” kicks in like a bit-tripped slab of crackling wall, but it doesn’t take too long for things to short-circuit, the transmission assaulted by supercharged melody, seething noise, and fractured loops—and that’s just the first half. Whether the source is a flying saucer motherboard or the junked guts of a microwave, extraterrestrial forces are afoot.
