In less than a year’s time Gut Eater has already proven to be a scorching new voice in noise. Death and Science follows August’s split with Harm Signals as well as a hellish self-titled tape just last month on Swedish microlabel Mima Kass, continuing and improving upon the thick, choking sound with which the project has defined itself. Lumbering along the tendon-bridge strung taut between heavy electronics and walled-up harsh, GE delivers what might be their most fully realized work yet. Based on the sterile simplicity of the title, one might assume these six searing tracks are cold and dry; they are anything but.
