Parker Weston’s newest alias Dummy Rifle faces off with BA lifeblood initiative Gemengung on this split of agile, adventurous noise. The Fiend of Phoenix sticks to his guns with more psychedelic laser blast synths that pay homage to 90s Japanoise, though still coated in a fine layer of Arizona grit that can’t be scrubbed off. Gemengung’s ever-evolving palette answers with some of the project’s most active material yet, both finely fileting and brutally chopping large harsh slabs into an exhilarating cut-up carcass. Come for the pew-pews, stay for the loose screws.
